HL2: Lost Coast / HL2: Aftermath and DOD: Source news

Now that Valve has won their right (thru a lawsuit) for creative independence, gamers can expect even more updates and downloads via Steam.

Free from the chains of a publishing house and cutting down on release scheduling, packaging delays and the hassles of retail, Steam will be dishing out in the near future Half Life 2: The Lost Coast a free bonus level of an unchartered sector along the beach near "City 17". Check out the impressive eye candy of Half Life 2: Lost Coast and find out about the High Dynamic Range (HDR) graphic features showcasing new approaches to in game lighting (under/over exposure) that Valve has in store for us at bit-tech.net.

Up next will be Half Life 2: Aftermath an expansion pack (not free) available through Steam whose storyline will see the main character team up with Alyx (who apparently will be playing a much more prominent role) as they flee the crumbling citadel.

Also in the works is news of Day of Defeat: Source the classic WWII themed online shooter that is being completely redrawn and rebuilt.
